  2. background data:image и svg

    Не обязательно "data:image" напрямую использовать в теге "img" - можно использовать как "background" - для этого вам понадобится:

    Какой-то элемент - пусть это будет div.

    Добавим ему class и у вас получится:

    <div class=data_image_svg></div>

    Добавим стилей и в том числе и

    background-image: url(data:image/svg

    И у вас должно получиться что-то типа:

    width: 100%;
    height: 150px;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
